Connection of an off-chip CAN Controller to the PULPissimo SoC

Abstract

For the communication of the PULPissimo SoC with other devices, an off-chip CAN controller should be connected to the PULPissimo SoC. The goal of this thesis is to connect an existing CAN controller to the SPI or I2C bus, to create a driver and to establish communication via Linux SocketCAN.

Requirements

  • Sucessfully passed ESES lecture or knowledge of hardware design using Verilog or VHDL
